Terms of sale
Last updated 25 October 2026
These terms cover buying and reading One Screen at a Time (“the book”), sold by Andrzej Stacherski. Questions: the contact address (to be added).
What you are buying
Access to the online edition of the book: every chapter, the checkpoints and the vocabulary list, including Part 2, for a single price shown on the home page. Chapter 1 and “Start here” are free to read without buying.
Who sells it
Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. That means Lemon Squeezy is the seller you pay, issues your receipt, and charges and pays the sales tax or VAT that applies where you live. Its own terms and privacy policy apply to the checkout.
How access works
- After you pay, we email a one-time sign-in link to the address you paid with. The link works for one hour.
- Opening it signs that browser in for 30 days. After that, request a new link on the sign-in page with the same email address.
- Access covers the current edition and its updates. I aim to keep the site online and the book readable, but I cannot promise it forever. If I ever close the book, I will give notice on this site first.
What you may do
- Read the book, and use the code from it in your own projects, personal or commercial. No credit is needed, although it is always appreciated.
- Do not share your sign-in link or access with other people, and do not copy, republish or resell the text of the book.
- The book and its text remain my copyright. Buying gives you a licence to read and use it, not ownership of it.
No guarantees
The book teaches a way of building a small web app. I have tested the code, but it is provided as it is. I cannot promise that you will reach a particular result, skill level or job outcome. Browsers and hosting services change, and the book says so where it matters.
Refunds
See the refund policy. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have by law as a consumer.
Privacy
See the privacy policy.
Changes and law
If I change these terms, the new version applies to purchases made after the “last updated” date above. These terms are governed by the law of Poland, without removing any consumer protection that applies where you live.
